Paul and team completed a renovation of our kitchen. At the outset of the project we were not sure what was possible in our space. Through the initial design consult, we were shown a variety of options that we could choose from to optimize & modernize our space. The project itself was run efficiently from start through finish and minimized the amount of time we didn’t have use of our kitchen.

They also kept our home clean throughout the process. With our kitchen now complete, we can honestly say that it’s one of the best investments we’ve made in our home – cooking is far more enjoyable in our new kitchen, and the quality of the work will serve us for many years to come. And, it’s beautiful too!

Paul and team completed a renovation of our main floor consisting of reconfiguring the space to create a large kitchen with a 12 foot island, walk-in pantry, mud room, dining and living room as well as office. We then engaged Paul and team to upgrade our basement (no structural changes) and finally, to landscape our backyard. Throughout all phases of the renovation (taking over a year and a half from the planning stages), Paul and team were forthcoming with ideas and suggestions, were happy to scope out and suggest materials to use in each space and regularly kept us informed and engaged in each step.

Living through a renovation such as this with two young children, Paul and team were very accommodating in trying to minimize the impact on our family. Our onsite Project Manager was excellent in that he was very professional and respectful of keeping the space as clean as reasonably possible, and he was very consultative with regards to decisions and keeping us informed of what was to come. While we invariably were over budget, the project timelines were met and we are extremely happy with the quality of the materials and finishings.

Paul Etheridge has been a delight to work with in our 3- month long renovation. He understood our needs and often gave us very good advice. He was always ethical and honest and would do anything to make sure the job was done correctly. His team of electricians, plumbers, drywallers etc. were all of his calibre and everything was completed on time and with accuracy.

We have used his services as our General Contractor for a total of three different projects including indoor and outdoor and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a low stress renovation!

A complete overhaul of kitchen, removal of existing divided pocket kitchen and nook into an open concept kitchen with integrated appliances within custom cabinetry. The transformation was dramatic, enabling an unencumbered view of English Bay from anywhere in the kitchen.

Etheridge Home Renovation demonstrated high standards of professionalism from the preliminary consultations, to the project itself as well as follow up upon completion. As substantial as the project was, the crew managed to contain the unavoidable disruption to a minimum. The end product was excellent.

Paul’s creativity in translating our functional needs into imaginative design and his execution with excellent workmanship was the reason we hired him again. He was able to update our kitchen and bathrooms with the latest materials and fixtures while maintaining the original character of our 1920’s home.

When we were forced into a renovation by way of an unexpected flood, Paul Etheridge was with us early in the process to help work with our insurance adjuster.

Paul’s background in design was very useful as on many occasions he was able to come up with workable solutions that not only pleased us, but also the trades and interior designer.

He was incredibly responsive to our many questions, was very hands-on throughout the process and his calm demeanour was helpful when dealing with difficult situations. One part contractor / one part marriage councilor, Paul was able to make the experience enjoyable and relatively conflict free for us!

I just want to comment that your crew, and the sub-contractors that you’ve hired to date to work at our place, are hard working, courteous, and respectful. Great People.

When I first called you, I was excited to finally tackle two projects in my home that would make my place more beautiful and relaxing, the renovation of two bathrooms. While I dithered with what to do, a new project unexpectedly emerged—the need to re-do my drain tiles, fix my foundation, repair the rotting wall, and get rid of the little critters that had found a new home.

We quickly went from talking about tile colours and layouts, to digging trenches and stopping water flows — not fun!

I realize for you that project changes are standard in your business, but for us, this was pretty stressful. I can’t thank you enough for your responsiveness to us, your patience with our questions, and your support, especially at the end of the project when we decided to sell.

And of course, I can’t thank you enough for the project management and workmanship! Everything was done expertly, and you always communicated what was happening with us. Of course no one sees the drain tile work, but the siding looks great, as does the little room in the basement in which Bruce loves practicing his guitar.

As you know, we recently decided to sell our house. This was based on lots of things, but mainly, with our kids now moved out, we feel alone in a big house with just the two of us, and we want to live in a smaller space and have a simpler life. We are leaving our house knowing that we took care of the place over the years as best we could and that for our last project, we hired the best people we knew, who did a job that will add value to the place for years. Thanks for helping us in the end, and making an old East Van house a better place for years to come.

We worked with Etheridge on a fairly major home renovation and we are very happy that we chose to work with them. Paul, the owner, took our vision and created the design and plan, and Neil, our site supervisor, executed it with precision. Though renovation can be a stressful process, we always knew that our team put a lot of thought and care into the work that they were doing, and the result shows just that.

They do solid work, with an eye for detail. Our home actually turned out better than we ever could have imagined, and we thank Paul and Neil for that. The work was also completed on time. Beyond doing great work, the guys always made time for us when we needed it. They are trustworthy and overall, just a pleasure to work with.

We hired Etheridge to renovate our backyard and install a patio with landscaping. Paul was fantastic to work with. He provided a vision of what it could look like and a fair quote. The project started and ended earlier than expected, with excellent communication throughout, responsiveness to our requests, and follow-up after the project was finished.

We now have a beautiful outdoor space where we regularly dine, entertain and relax. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and I wish we had hired them to do this years ago. In fact, we are looking to hire them for another project.

Our project manager, Cam, was amazing and always within reach. Their use of CoConstruct as a platform where we could follow along with all the progress was also a huge plus.

There were a couple of delays, but that’s to be expected with a large-scale renovation. Overall, we were so happy with how smoothly everything went and with the final product. We’re already planning our second-floor renovation and will definitely be using Paul again. We’d highly recommend Etheridge to anyone looking to do home renovations.

I highly recommend Etheridge Reno. Paul and his team are incredibly experienced, resourceful and reliable. My home renovation was very complicated as we added a whole new floor to our house.
