This fabulous family home in the Woodlands neighbourhood of North Vancouver, was in desperate need of a make over from top to bottom. The rooms we worked on included the kitchen, bathroom en suite, guest bathroom, garden deck, and central corridor. With a growing family and a lot of entertaining planned an open floor plan with a functional kitchen and lots of practical storage was required. Job done!
To do this, we custom built the large kitchen island as a place for the family and house visitors to gather around and a breakfast bar next to it for them to enjoy a meal together. We wanted the home to mimic the beauty of the nature surrounding the house, to do this, we emblazoned the house with beautiful wood accent pieces. Adding recessed lighting throughout the home was crucial to adding light throughout the home. The clean lines of the ceiling pot lighting plays perfectly against the randomness of the wood knots and embellishments. We replaced the floor in both the main room and both bathrooms, opting for modern hardwood and classic tiles, both of which can withstand the rigors that a growing family can throw at it. In the en suite shower and bathroom renovation, we didn’t just want to create a wall of white subway tile. We opted to break up the subway tile with a modern and elegant 2 inch grey tile. Doing this allows us to make the shower a focal point, drawing the eye and solidifying the modern and contemporary feel of this home renovation.
